Wisdom of the Dalai Lama

Posted on July 4, 2010July 27, 2021 by Clio

Overview: I have a German language “Wisdom of the Dalai Lama” page-a-day calendar. Each day, I plan to translate the German into English, and discuss.

Juli 3: Wenn Sie schwierigen Lebensumständen begegnen, denken Sie daran, dass das Leid vergänglich ist.

When you have troubles in life, remember that the pain shall pass.

I believe I’ve reached the point in my life where, more often than not, I remember “This too shall pass,” and it’s had a positive effect on me. There are certainly times when I forget this, when life gets overwhelming and I become emotional and out of control. All that does, though, is make things even worse.

All things pass away.
